  • Arizona: Contacting former clients

I put in my 2 week notice at a Chiropractic office this week and in doing so the owner opted for me not to return to work. I work as a massage therapist. My question today is concerning the legality of me taking patients from his office as my own personal clients. I do not have any contracts with him or his office. I have already received emails from clients that i have seen in the office asking for my new place if employment, i have yet to respond to the emails.

1)If a patient of the doctor contacts me for massage services, is it legal for me to take this person as my own client? Is there some conflict of interest law?

2)Can i legally pursue contacting former clients to let them know i have quit and let them know of my new location?

    3) Also concerned about patient privacy laws, would this be a HIPPA violation for me to contact former clients? I would be obtaining their info from business cards and from internet searches.
