  • Rounding Hours question Arizona

The question is how this should properly / legally be done. 15 min rounding is used. A person may work from 2 to 6 time periods in a day. What' done is, Every start and stop time is rounded. From 7:05 to 7:55 is 1 hour, but 7:10 to 8:00 is .75 hours. Both times worked is 50 minutes. Each rounded time period is totaled for the day (not rounded). It seems to me the time work should be rounded. Rounding each start and stop time just doesn't seem as fair, but it may be legal. Is this legal ? If not, can you explain the proper method?
    Thank you.

Personally (and as a payroll manager for many years), in your situation as you describe it, I'd pay them by the minute and forget rounding altogether.

I don't respond to Private Messages unless the moderator specifically refers you to me for that purpose. Thank you.
