  • Scheduling Laws California

My current employer has some employees on 8 hour shifts, some on 10 hour shifts and some on salary. We've been told this is illegal and that we ALL have to be one or the other? The real problem would be the staff LIKE the way we are all scheduled. Do we have to change? And can someone point me to where it says so? We are trying to avoid the whole alternating schedule thing...

Who is stating it is illegal?

Whoever is telling you this, ask them for their source. There is no such law anywhere, that a business cannot schedule employees according to business needs.
