  • field work meal reinbursement Florida

I have been working for a company for 2 years,my position requires me to be on the road travelling 5 days a week, sometimes I am out of my home area requiring me to stay at hotels other times I am local not requiring a hotel but still travelling in a 150mile radius,up until now my employer has reimbursed me for all expenses but now has decided not to reimburse for meals when I am local but only when travel requires an overnight stay at a hotel. Are they violating any Florida labor laws not to reimburse employees when work requires them to travel and eat out.If so what statute would this fall under?

No labor laws in Florida (or any other state except California) requires an employer to reimburse employees for meals when they are traveling. No, your employer is not violating any laws.
The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding and enforceable contract or CBA says otherwise. If it does, then the terms of the contract or CBA apply.
