As a maintance person for a property owner is it fair to pay your own rent why performing several duties such as 24-hour emergency calls, repairing electrical and plumbing jobs, drywall repairs, painting units for new rentals, snow removal, clearing debri from garbage areas on all unit sites, etc. Being a full-time maintance person I receive pay for the work that done by me for the repairs and etc, yet I still pay for rent while living on the site property!!! What can be done about this?

    Find a new job?

Your employer isn't required to pay your rent or provide you with a free place to live. They're only required to pay you for hours you work. If you aren't happy with the terms and conditions of your employment, you're free to find a new job elsewhere.

Because it is very likely eaten up by the rent.

Beth's answer would need to change if the employer requred you to live on site.
