  • Public employer requirement Florida

Hello. A local public employer is implementing a policy requiring all employees to report any violation of law..ranging from parking tickets to noise ordinance violations to misdemeanors and up...received at any time including off hours. It covers all employees, not just first responders or certificate/license holders. It is not reporting convictions, it mandated employer be notified for any allegation.....speeding ticket etc. Any input from the group on this one?

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia

As you were told before, this is legal. in public sector, it is not even at all uncommon.
I post with the full knowledge and support of my employer, though the opinions rendered are my own and not necessarily representative of their position. In other words, I'm a free agent.
