  • Confused in Missouri

Hi, there we live in a small town in Missouri. The trailer park Owner asked to us to be managers of the trailer park and so we said yes. We asked someone that was visiting another trailer to please don't be speeding up in here because of the kids and animal always in the drive way. The person took it very personally and he started harassing my son which is 17 and us verbally and well we called the law and nothing was done about it. well this what happen like i said the adult which is 32 jumped out of his mini van while my son was riding his bike and hit him so hard it knocked him off his bike and his glasses went flying and now my son can not see anything in front of him at all so he picks up a rock and throws it and he hears something breaking and it was the tail light lens. that is what we found out and my son got the ticket for destroying private property or damage to a car. the guy got a ticket for hitting him. My son now has to go in front of the judge for his ticket. This is was only the first incident and now he has done it again and the cops don't believe my son because the person that him has lived here for a very long time. What do we do please anybody can you help us figure this out we don't know what to do. Very scared parents

What you do is hire an attorney for your son and follow that attorney's advice on how to handle the charges. The police did what they are supposed to do. They are not judges and juries. You can also talk to a civil law attorney about filing suit against the guy who punched your son, if he has damages.
I post with the full knowledge and support of my employer, though the opinions rendered are my own and not necessarily representative of their position. In other words, I'm a free agent.
