  • LLC open in NJ but property in TX New Jersey

I am going to open an LLC in New Jersey with my husband. The property I want to purchase for renting is in Texas, can I use this LLC? Any type of registration needed for the LLC in Texas? Thank you!

An LLC organized in New Jersey can own property in Texas. Any foreign LLC that owns property in another state is generally required to register to do business. In Texas, registration is on Form 304 and costs $700.

For more information, see "How to Form a Texas Limited Liability Company (LLC)."

    Good luck.
