  • Judgements prior to my CH7 BK

    I filed my CH7 BK 10/22/1997. I hadn't realized that 2 judgements were
awarded against me earlier in the year (4/xx/1997 and (10/15/1997). I
didn't list these debts in my BK, and now they are still showing on my
credit reports and still appear to be active judgements.

    1) Am I liable for these debts monetarily?
    2) Can I get the judgements to list as satisfied due to my BK that same
    year?

    Thanks,
    Bruce

Depends on your jurisdiction. In the 6th Circuit they would be
discharged, but only if it was a "no asset" case.

As far as the credit report goes, at best they would show as discharged
in bankruptcy. Better to just dispute the entries, just claim you do
not "owe" them. Might be able to get them eliminated from your report.
They were never "satisfied" so forget that. Getting them off as
inaccurate is far better than showing them satisfird anyway.
