Hey, I take it back, there *is* a consumer-friendly provision in the new
code. Section 101 indicates social security payments are not included in
current monthly income, but income does include "amounts regularly paid by
others for household expenses." What a joke this bill is. The American
    public wanted this?

We are going to see the consequences of this ridiculous bill in the
years to come, especially with the CCs raising their minimum payments.
I can see it now around the Holidays when Merchants will be crying about
their profits going down b/c people are not spending money or using
their CCs. This Bill is going to come back and bite the CCs companies in
        the ***.

It would seem that is the point of the CC issuers. If you don't intend to
pay what you owe, don't use our CC. I think this would apply to a very small
minority of CC holders as most users are honest people who honor their
agreements. There will always be the fringe who include bankruptcy as part
of their financial planning just as there is the criminal element who figure
the law is for everyone else. The merchants won't even notice a ripple.

I agree with you. Most people are honest who honor their agreement with
the CCs. That is until something happens, illness, loss of jobs. You can
                    not predict the future.
My only CC is a debit card, have no use for any other type of credit.
This way nobody is profiting from my money.
