  • finding medical malpractice attorney, time to file California

What's the best way to find a medical malpractice attorney and when do you need to file? We don't know how to find a good attorney and the initial surgery date was 12/06. Have we run out of time? In addition, the Doctor was chosen by Workman's Comp not us.

Medical malpractice actions must be commenced within 3 years from the date of the injury, or one year from the date the plaintiff discovers or reasonably should have discovered the injury, whichever occurs first. Cal. Civ. Proc. Code 340.5

Most towns have an attorney referral service run by the state bar association. Contact the bar association tell them exactly what you are looking for, and they will give you a list of attorneys, that fit your criteria.

keaton - please do not reply to old threads or are you just advertising your website. I note your firm is in the UK & this is a US law forum.
