Fox's Faux Judge Unfairly Reports on the
Terri Schindler-Shiavo Story
On October 14, 2003 on John Gibson's "The Big Show" (Fox News) Andrew
Napolitano, a NJ attorney, gave a distorted report related to the case
of Terri Schindler-Shiavo. In effect he sided with the Florida
judiciary's decision to have Terri murdered by starvation. He accepted
as true, Terri's husband's version while ignoring how the husband and
Judge Greer refused to allow therapy and rehabilitation throughout the
years. How could this be 'fair and balanced' reporting?
Terri's feeding tube was removed around 2 P.M. on October 15, 2003.
Her husband will not allow anyone to attempt feeding her by mouth.
Gov. Jeb Bush may attempt yet another intervention.
To name only some of Napolitano's omissions in his one-sided
reporting:
Numerous professionals testified that Terri may be able to be
rehabilitated.
Rehabilitative therapy was banned by the court despite outside medical
reports.
Physicians claim that since Terri does not drool thus her swallowing
ability may allow her to eat food.
Affidavits were sent to Judge Greer requesting him to allow a
swallowing test. He summarily denied the request.
Michael Schiavo when suing for medical malpractice on Terri's behalf
swore he needed maximum damages because he planned to take care of his
wife for the rest of her life.
A 1992 medical malpractice lawsuit granted $700,000 for Terri's
medical care.
Schiavo has been using Terri's medical care funds to cover the legal
expenses in his fight to have her starved to death.
Schiavo has refused to allow his wife any rehabilitation therapy
procedures that could improve her condition.
He has denied aggressive medical treatment and prohibited caretakers
from giving her medication for life-threatening infections.
