Except for very limited types of jobs, such as airline pilots, interstate truck drivers, there are NO limits to the number of hours an employee can be required to work in a day and, in most states, in a week. Florida has no such restrictions.
The maximum number of hours an employee can be required to work in a single day is 24.

Honestly I am a server/bartender and I prefer working those 15 -17 hour shifts because you make more money and they get you out of the short shifts that you don't make much money on. Also I prefer to work them straight through with no break and not miss out on any tables.
Being a server, you are constantly moving around or sitting at slow times and you get to eat so having a break isn't necessary.

look up dept of labor for floria there is a definition of a legal work day even though they can work you double shifts, it clearly state the 10hrs is a legal work day, requiring someone to work past 10hr you are entitle to extra pay.
so if you work 3 12hr days and one four hour day to eqaul 40 hrs, the three days you worked past ten hrs your are entiled to extra pay :D

forgetmenot, why do you keep answering old posts?
And, btw, even though Florida law specifies 10 hours as a "legal work day", there is NO law in Florida that requires overtime pay if you work over that.
