I'm not quite sure I agree with the pharmacologically
induced part. You can't turn stupid into genius with drugs,
but with the right mix you can sometimes gain another
standard deviation on whatever you have, if only for a few
hours. Coleridge used opium. Narcotics, nicotene, alcohol,
caffeine, and benzedrine have all been favorites of artists
and thinkers in the past. Ritalin, methamphetamine, and
heroin are gaining today. Duration of action is short and
you pay for it later, but very occasionally the price is
worth it. Or so I'm told...

My drug of choice is adderall. I go from being unable to count to 10
mentally without getting lost, to being able to visualize 30 steps in a
chess problem, all on 5 mg.
