(snip) Kobe spent that much in the first week of responding to charges; hiring PR, flying them back and forth, his entourage responding to newsies- Hell yes this is going to cost a lot of money- that's why they tried to figure out a way not to have to bring the charges in the first place. Bringing in another prosecutor and getting a lot of money needs evidence to support the requests- Sounds like their case is strong, or they wouldn't have got the help or the money. Chas

Chas, did you ever nail this one! Uncle Sam could be going up against
this guy on a jay-walking beef and would probably have to ask for a
tax increase to nail 'em on it. These blacks and guilt-ridden whiggers
are forever crying discrimination, even when their heroes have 95
trillion under their mattress.

This ain't exactly Saint Joseph being prosecuted here, and just as you
suggest, if there was any damned way in the world they could have
dropped those charges, they would have. White prosecutors now cut
almost any black a break for fear of cities being burned to the
ground, especially famous blacks. That's what that long wait in even
filing charges was all about. If it was a white guy here, they'd have
filed charges in ten seconds flat. They got the goods on this guy, and
you can bet on it. Cordially, Marie

They probably don't want to threaten anybody in Eagle- this ain't LA, and
they better bring some body bags with them.
