Would someone please explain the difference between contingent,
unliquidated and disputed unsecured claims in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Thank you.

Generally, a contingent claim is one where the right to payment depends on
the happening of a future event which has not yet occurred.

An unliquidated claim is one where there is no fixed value (such as a claim
for personal injury).

A disputed claim is one where the debtor disputes owing all or part of the
money that the creditor says is due.
