Police Blotter: Newborn Mom Admits False Name
posted February 6, 2004

Chattanooga Police said a woman who was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center
and had a baby boy admitted to using a false name - that of the planned
adoptive mother.

Police said a woman who was identified as Christy Holloway was flown in from
Fannin County, Ga., to Erlanger.

She had a baby boy, who was placed in the neonatal intensive care unit.

A hospital nurse told police that she received a call from authorities
saying that the woman actually was April Anderson, 27, of Ellijay, Ga.

She said she was advised that Christy Holloway was planning to adopt the
baby and that the insurance was in the name of Ms. Holloway.

The case was taken to Chief Magistrate Bob Meeks, but he refused to sign the
warrant, saying the case was outside the jurisdiction.
