Please forward this email to any b-mother/adoptee/adoption lists you
are on as well as your family and friends who support open records
legislation.

Please read the following carefully.

In an effort to garner support for the SB 335 in New Hampshire we have
decided to run a full-page advertisement similar to the advertisement
used by Oregon in 1998. That is, we want to list b-mothers names who
support the right of an adoptee to have access to his/her original
birth certificates. For those of you who weren't involved during
Oregon's successful run for open records, that advertisement consisted
of the names of over 500 b-mothers who supported Measure 58. We know
there are more than 500 b-mothers out there so we would like to see
the names of over 500 b-mothers who support Senate Bill 335. Can we
beat Oregon's record? We'd like to try! (The link to read the text
of SB 335 is below.)

We need to illustrate to the Senators who will hear testimony
relative to Senate Bill 335 that mothers are not afraid of their
children knowing who they are.
We need to illustrate to the Senators that IF mothers were promised
confidentiality at the time they either did not want it or they no
longer want it.
ATTENTION B-MOTHERS - If you are a mother who lost her child to
adoption and you support Senate Bill 335 and you are willing to have
your name appear in this newspaper ad please email your name to me.
You do NOT have to be from NH to support this cause. Oregons ad
contained the names of mothers from around the world. I know there
are more than 500 b-mothers out there. Lets show them just how vast
the numbers are! ***NOTE*** If you provide me with your name it is
with the understanding that you authorize me to use your name in this
advertisement.

Again, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! We would have to have the names into
the newspaper no later than Tuesday, January 27, 2004 in order for the
advertisement to appear in NHs largest circulated newspaper before the
next hearing on SB 335.
The cost of this advertisement is $3,890.03. We are short $3,690.03.
We are asking for donations in the amount of $5.00 to $10.00. We do
understand that times are difficult for many. Therefore, if you are
unable to spare $5.00 or $10.00 please send what you can to the
address below. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! Please send your names and
donations today to:

I don't know--you'd have to ask her.
