Providian is a great credit card. They sent me a blank check that I can
write for up to $6,500.00 for only 1.9% for the first few months. After
that it will only be 27%. Who could ask for a better deal? Aren't they
great people?

Given that ING direct is paying 3.5% on savings accounts, it sounds like
Providian is giving you a great deal. Why not pull the $6500, invest it in
the higher yield account, and repay the balance in full prior the the end of
the promo period?
Free money.

Where could you get enough interest to make up for the 27& that
providian is charging?

you pay it back before the 27% hits. You are, of course, not supposed to be
spending it out of the savings account, so all of the $6500 should be there,
plus the 1.9%, + another 1.6% for you.

No, you misunderstand...You can pull the $6500 back out and send it
back, but you keep interest.
OR, get the cash, have a "Friend" deposit in a good stock, make the
payments for 3-4 months then stop and declare BK...:) If hey ask where
it went, say "Left it in Vegas, I'm sorry" :)
