Under Chapter 7 rules (pre 10/17), can any money taken out as a loan
against your 401k during the bankruptcy process create any potential
problems for my claim? The amount I am considering is around $300, to
be used for back rent payment and household expenses.

I took out a loan to pay my attorney, and he told me that as long as I had a
legitimate thing (not luxury items) to need the money for, that it wouldnt
cause a problem. May want to ask your attorney though.
