View Full Version : How Is New Law Working Out?

What are peoples' reaction and experience filing bankruptcy under the
new law? How are the lawyers handling it? The credit card companies that
have no regulations putting ceilings on how much interest they can
charge the consumer are the ones that lobbied so hard to get this law
passed. Yet, these same companies are the ones responsible that help
keep people in debt by raising their interest rates even though they may
have been current with one company but possibly late with another. They
then get punished by the company they took care to pay on time. Where is
the logic in that? I wonder if there could be a "no credit use day"
where millions of consumers who pay exhorbitent rates would choose not
to use their cards and make a statement to the companies that enough is
enough! Rates even for high score consumers can start out at 15-17% from
the major carriers. Just some thoughts.

Then go after abusive debt collectors/collection agencies. Looks like
you could make some bucks...have some fun...and have plenty of
clients.

Since the new laws, collection agencies in particular have gone from
stretching Federal laws to blowing them outright.
