Met with a lawyer today, going back tomorrow to sign the papers. Filing
Ch. 7 in Central CA court. Approx. 40K in debt, mostly CC and an auto
repo, and am currently unemployed with no assets. Lawyer says that he
doesn't see anything troublesome so I feel somewhat at ease, while still
feeling like a loser.
My final fear is what would happen if I forgot about or missed a
creditor? I know it can be amended before the §341, but what happens if
something pops up after that or the discharge?
I probably misunderstood him, but I got the impression that as long as
the debt incurred before the BK, I would be okay. I'm going through
everything again today to try and be sure. I'll ask again tomorrow, but
would like advice here as well.
Most of my debt is years old and I did my best providing info about the
original CC/loans, but with all the letters from the collection
agencies, transfers, buy-outs, etc. who knows if I missed one. I even
pulled my CR to help so I feeling sure about the big ones, but the
uneasiness lingers. A couple hundred dollars could add up with interest
and hit me hard later.
