Hi I was discussing this today with a friend who said in certain States you
write on your check "without recourse(?)" and that means that the cashing
credit card company accepts that as your final payment. Can anyone eleborate
on this please? Thanks.

Years ago, something of a similar nature came up...Something to the
effect of "Final Payment" and crap like that.
The simple thing is, you incur the debt, you are expected to pay it
off, barring bankruptcy.
Nothing you write on a check in this manner (Or previous) is going
to stop them from collecting and/or screwing your credit rating.
