This question may be a little OT but I'm asking anyway. My wife and I
separated in Jan 2003 (she was cheating, had a boyfriend,
yada...yada...yada) after she had spent us into the poor house. She left me
with the house and all the payments and bills that go along with it. We
filed jointly for bankruptcy Ch 7 in July of last year. The bankruptcy
trustee was going to sell my house until I worked out a deal to "buy" it
back from him. I had to borrow some of the money from my 401K and the
trustee agreed to let me pay the rest over twelve months. I'm six months
into the payback period and now she's gone ahead and filed for divorce. In
the divorce papers she is asking for her equity in the house and her 1/2 of
the 401K. Does SHE have any equity in the house? Am I about to get screwed
again?
