MAF Anti-Spam ID: 20040617101941X2y7FfK0
I keep seeing this at the bottom of letters that IMO are spam? What is this
Anti-Spam ID about? What or who is MAF? What is purpose of putting it at the
bottom of the spam letter?
Thanks,
J

You're right, it is spam. The MAF actually-is-spam "antispam" ID is a
highly reliable spammish stigmata. So much so its useful for
automatically cancelling junk in a regional hierarchy that I manage
(pre-dates my bankruptcy practice, FWIW) with no false positives in 3+
years of use. Unfortunately a big chunk of netnews no longer honors
cancel controls so you may want to ask your news provider to drop any
articles carrying the Mark of the Spam (tm).
