I have seen an attorney regarding my situation. $50k in debt with literally
no assets to protect. I have $150 a month after all bills. He is possibly
sugeesting 13 with the money left over. When it comes down to do I have a
choice which way to go? Why would 13 be any better than 7 in the long run?

I would bet that you can find some "extra" expenses to use up that $150.
Join a health club - there's $40 a month at least. You donate to a
church about $20 a month, don't you? ;) How about those entertainment
expenses? Don't you have some newspaper and magazine subscriptions?
Check your food allowance.....I'm sure that could be higher. Gas is
pretty expensive right now, your transportation costs are higher.
Plenty of ways to eat up that extra $150 and go with a simple CH. 7.
