A poser.......

A woman is pregnant and has other children and is getting 'Aid for
Dependent Children'..

She will lose this money if she makes an adoption plan and takes money
for her keep from potential aparents.

True or false?

I read about this in this thread..

http://forums.adoption.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=360212#post360212

In this thread someone posted that the woman she adopted from lost her
payments from the Aid for Dependent Children because the woman was
receiving money from the agency/potential aparents.

It is considered income..

If it is considered income *by the government* why is it not
considered the selling of a child?

Anyone?

That is the general principle almost anywhere in the world, that if you
receive a social benefit on the basis of having no or low income and you
then obtain a money from whatever source, the benefit is cut.

Hopefully it would discourage these women from trying to 'sell' their
babies, if that is what it is.

So what would you consider it?
why is it not considered the selling of a child?
Anyone?

Because it isn't?

There are all sorts of things wrong with those sort of arrangements IMO,
they would be illegal here, but a pregnant woman receiving money to help
with pregnancy medical expenses is not 'selling of a child'. 'Selling of a
child' is act of parting with your child for money, money that you can do
what ever you like with rather than spending on medical and other pregnancy
expenses.
