We've had our meeting and are now just waiting the two months for our
discharge.

What happens in this time? Why two months? Can any of the creditors
(none of which came to the meeting) contest now?

We are reaffirming our car loan and the credit union's attorney came to
the meeting with papers for us to sign. We are reaffirming our
mortgage, as well, but nobody from the mortgage company showed up. Our
attorney just told us we need to call the mortgage company. Why? What
do I need to tell them?

Thanks.

Typically, nothing happens during this time. You're just waiting
for the appropriate statutory period to pass. Creditors can still
filed objections to discharge even if they don't appear at the
341.

Why are you reaffirming? In most states, you do not have to
reaffirm a debt, so long as your payments are current.

We are in OK, does that make a difference? We reaffirmed because that's
what our attorney advised us to do. Our payments are current.
What difference would it make if we did / did not reaffirm?

With regard to the mortgage company, should we do nothing?

Thanks, again.

My attorney told me I had to reaffirm Best Buy (joint with my mother) and
I'm in OK. As far as I can tell though, it made no difference--they just
started sending statements to my mom and I'm paying them.
