I'm preparing my paperwork for my BK attorney and I am really blown
away by the number of credit cards my husband and I have. We are
filing on 23 credit card accounts, 3 installment loans, and a gym
membership. We accumulated these through 15 years of marriage...but
I'm still pretty ashamed that I was in denial about our situation for
so long.
Are we that unusual? Do others who file BK have the same number? Just
curious.

Acknowledging a problem with debt is the first step, but in your case
you should realize you are powerless over it. You should check out
Debtors Anonymous for help with that. Some people are complusive debtors
and this group can help you overcome that.

Not unusual at all. It won't raise any eyebrows.

Unusual: Debtor has only 2 creditors, one is debtor's spouse, total of
$6K debts, all unsecured. Seen yesterday at a 341 in Tampa...

Out of curiousity, who was the trustee for the 341 meetings you
attended? I recently had my 341 in Tampa, and I am curious who works on
Monday.
What did the trustee have to say about one of the creditors being the
spouse? Was their an objection raised to this?

None that I recall. The trustee's questions seemed to go less towards
the creditor's spousal status and more towards confirming the
debtor really, really, _really_ wanted to continue on the road to
discharge over the unusually small amount of debt.

In my case, it was credit cards only, about a dozen of them. I am
paying them back at 10% (plus another 1% to the bloodsucker aka
Trustee). What bothers me is that the Trustee is paying back some of
the credit cards, whilst other credit cards are getting zilch. I hope
I don't have to worry about those non-paid credit cards if I somehow,
someway, manage to complete my Chapter 13.
