As a Credit Analyst at a sub prime finance company, A Cosigner per the car
dealer will help you.
But at the bank it does not.
Expect to pay between 12% to 18%.
Those dealership ads are for captive finance companies and
the Ford Motor Credit and TMCC and all offering them are for qualified
applicants
not cosigners.
Your best bet for a low APR is to have the Cosigner buy the unit for you and
you make the payments.
creating a straw purchase.
If the lender finds out about the straw purchase than you are screwed
because at that point they can
take the unit back.

Since I got BK Ch. 7 discharge more than a week ago... is it any better if family/friend co-sign auto loan? if so, does that based on co-signer's credit/FICO score? If a co-signer has high FICO score, say... 750-800, do I get an APR of 0%? (If the dealership ads 0% up to 60 months (this is just a example))?? Anyone can tell me based on your post-BK with co-signer who has excellent credit on how much they got for APR, etc... TIA! Tom

But virtually never do so long as the payments are current.
