I'm trying to figure out my expenses.. does this seem reasonable?
rent = 400.00
electricity = 40.00
telephone = 60.00 (20 home and 40 cell)
Other utilities = 105 (cable = 55, internet = 50)
food = 250
clothing = 50 (this is a monthly average for a year)
laundry and dry cleaning = 20
transportation = 300 (250 fuel, 50 general mtc)
recreation, clubs and entertainment = 150
renters insurance = 18
auto insurance = 75
installment auto payments = 357
child support = 300
other expenses = 400 (this is monthly tuiotion payment plan) I also
have books of about 300 three times a year.
This totals 2525
My clear monthly income is 2672
This leaves me with 147 left over.
My total debt is close to 50k ... all credit cards except the car
loan.
So, how do I look?

> Whether they look reasonable is not the issue. The issue is whether they are your actual expenses. Further, it is impossible to say whether, even if they are your actual expenses, they are reasonable without knowing the city and state you live in, what the local trustees and courts find acceptable, and whether the are special circumstances that would warrant higher than normal expenses.
They ARE my actual expenses as best as I can estimate. I have read a
ton where most people tend to underestimate their expenses and was
looking for some thoughts. Your thoughts are appreciated, although I
am not sure I like your implication that I am somehow trying to fraud.

I was not suggesting that you were trying to commit fraud.

$250 a month seems high for gas for the car. That's about $60 a week. Are
you driving an SUV or other large vehicle & having to fill up more than once
a week?

Don't be afraid to bump it up and be realistic about your usage of the phone. It is summer now. I'm sure your electricity bill is higher if you are running the AC. With just those small increases/additions, you should wipe out your "left-over" fairly easily. The gas and water is included with my rent. I have the bare bones
basic phone service for my home line. My electric is higher now during
the summer, but it tends to average at that monthly amount.
Thanks for taking a look.

It takes me about $35 a week for work commute back and forth. My son
lives just over an hour away from me and it takes me 15-20 a week to
see him and go to his events. Then there is the additional general
errands. I don't have a huge SUV, its a jeep wrangler and it gets
about 17-18 mile to the gallon.
