I am working for a housing office and I'm hourly.
My problem is this. I have this co-worker who I work under. She and I pretty much do the same thing but she is salary.
She leaves at 11:30 and comes back at 1:30 - to take KARATE classes during work hours, and if she has personal errands she comes back later than that.
She fills in a time sheet but I know she doesn't write down her actual hours.
Sometimes I take a short lunch break so make up my hours, if I missed a day or came in late. No matter what, she always shortens me on my paycheck, whether its by one hour or 7. (She does the payroll as well)
I talked to my boss about this and she said, "We'll talk about it" but thats all. She hasn't taken any action whatsoever!
What can I do?

The issue of whether she is cheating the company on hours is no longer your concern once you have reported it to management. So, I would advise you dropping that issue.

However, the issue of changing your time is a very serious one. It is illegal, per the Fair Labor Standards Act. Your boss willfully not pursuing the matter is also very serious. You should file a claim with the state. The website that describes how to file a wage claim is at: http://www.twc.state.tx.us/ui/lablaw/wageclaim.pdf

Let me know if you have any other questions.
