I work in HR at a large privately held co in California. We have job openings posted on the various Internet job boards. My question is -- what are the legal requirements for retaining resumes that come in off the Internet, whether they are responding directly to a posted position or submitted in general? I am overwhelmed with resume responses and not sure what I am required to keep and what I can just delete. Thank you in advance!

The laws on resume/ applicantion retention do not differentiate between those that are received electronically and those that are submitted in hard copy.
