Hello,

I was employed for a contracting agency based in NJ.
This contracting agency placed me to work as a contractor with a firm in Maine.

I quit my contracting agency and they are not paying me for the last one month that I was with them saying that it was unethical and wrong on my part to quit them and join the firm in Maine as full time as they had placed me as a contractor in Maine. They said that I had to take their consent before joining the firm in Maine full time which I did not.

I just want to mention here that I had no contract of any sort with my contracting agency and I also gave a 2 week notice to my agency.

Please tell me as to where can I file a complain against my contracting agency.Should I do so with the labor department in Maine or in NJ.I would appreciate if someone can send me the link to the labor dept's site.

Also, anyone who is suffering from such problem and has challenged their employers legally please contact me as I would love to learn from your experience.

Appreciate evveryone'e help.
JD.

You would file a claim for nonpayment of wages with the Maine Dept. of Labor, since that is where you performed your services. It is a violation of law to withhold your pay for what this employer deems "disciplinary" reasons.

Nix on that unless it's done by PM. This is not a chat room.
