I filed a claim with my employer in CA. The doctor orders them to send me to see him for treatment but they never contacted me since that appointment. I called once a month asking about the status. It has been 8 months now and I finally find out they placed my case in inactive status.

Is there any point in trying to get them to compensate me for there mistakes? Any money or penalty my employer or state disability insurance company will have to pay me for not complying with my doctor’s order? If yes, what is the next step in getting this compensation?

Was your disability caused by a work related accident or illness? Or, is it something that happened away from work?

work related. They even paid me for mileage to see the doctor but no contact after the appointment.

You may wish to contact the state. Their website is found at: http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/iwguides.html
