My husbands divorce decree says that the support shall end on the childrens 18th birthday or upon graduation from high school, which ever comes later, or upon emancipation, marriage or death.

His daughter was emancipated when she turned 16, but the child support office refused to adjust his support, saying he had to get a court order.
We showed her his court order, but she still refused. He went to court, & the judge said he had to continue to pay till she turned 18.
So, the court order he had was invalid?

When she turned 18 we went back to the child support office & they told him he had to have yet another court order.
So, now he has two invalid court orders?

So, how many court orders does it take in Tennessee to get your child support stopped?

You know that is a shame that the state of TN is taking you through so much to stop child support payments.

I am sure i am not the only one that notice's when you owe CS...CSE is on it like white on rice, the majority of the time or at least it doesn't take them long to file the paperwork to garnish the NCP's check.
But If they owe you or need to (modify downward) or stop collections on NCP pay...(LOL)
They take there sweet time, or no one seems to know what is going on in the office.

The state operate's like the Federal Govt....when they owe you, you can expect to wait until they get to you....but if you owe them, they will garnish your paycheck, or freeze your bank accts in a blink of an eye.

The system needs a overhaul. (But that is just my wishful thinking) Good Luck!
