My husband and I started buying some land and a house from my husband's brother. The brother financed the mortgage. While we would like to keep the house, we have now got problems with another brother who owns land that adjoins ours. We have discussed selling the property, but haven't told the brother that we are buying it from yet. I just wanted to find out if there is anything he can do to keep us from selling this land. There were no documents signed saying we would never sell it. We will be able to get enough money from a sale of the land and house to pay him back and then to find another place. We feel that there will never be harmony between my husband and the brother that owns the land that adjoins ours. Thank you in advance for any help with my question.
