I worked for the County government until last week in a very specialized field. During my four years there I have been sent to many classes that are required to do the job and for any advancement. I have been rated and given certificates for completeing these courses/levels.

Question: The manuals that were given to me from the instructors, can I take them with me? My field is one where I can go to another county and do the same job or even apply for the next level.

I am to clear out my office tomorrow morning.

Thanks

Assuming the employer paid for the training, I don't see that there is any question that those manuals are the employer's property. If you wanted the manuals, you could have gone to the training on your own time and at your own expense.

They let me take them. The HR gal agree'd with ya but my boss let me
take 'em with me anyway. I guess the Association our Department is in
throughout the state (and Country) gives my boss a little departing
good will.

If your boss wants to permit you to take them, that's their option.

Oh, well. Just so you know that they weren't required to and they were a gift.
