My son works part time for McDonalds and was told that there is a mandatory meeting one night at the local bowling alley. He was told to be at McDonalds at 5PM and will be transported there. Since they are saying mandatory, do they have to pay him, and since he has to be at work location at a certain time should they pay him from that point?

We are talking about a McDonalds corporate store that employs about 50 part time kids and they try to get away with anything they can. Thanks for the reply
