Ok i am sooo sick of fighting with my sister over this and at a dinner party last night we had it out again lol. Does anyone know for a fact in Georgia what the legal age of consent is. She swears at the age 16 you can have sex with anyone you like. I thought at 16 they can only be a few years older than you. Does anyone know for a fact what it is?? I have spoke with two lawyers trying to put this at rest and she also spoke with a few people in law but noone can agree on the same thing lol. I just want to prove her wrong to be honest but this is getting old. I am ready to move on to a new fight lol which always ends up happening. We have looked it up many times but it just makes me more confused. From what i got last she might be right and you can have sex with who you want at 16 which scares me. I thought it was 18 to have sex with anyone of any age. Most the time someone 18 isnt even ready lol. Thanks for any help in advance!!!
Ok this might be in the wrong place and if so i am sorry. My question is this....... I know of a women who is 28 and is with a 16 year old and they are having a baby. The 16 year olds parents let them be together and were fine with them being together but changed their minds over a fight between the couple and now the parents wont let them be together anymore. Ok first off isnt them being together a crime? Second off can the parents do that? I am torn and shocked because this is someone i know and would have never expected this out of but..... I am worried for her also. She is having their baby now and it looks like she will have to do it on her own and i am scared she will be in jail. The father wants to be with her and the child also. If what the two have done is not a crime then can the parents allow it and then just change their minds like that? It is not like the two of them had an all out fight or anything. They just did not agree and he went to his parents to cool off and they would not let him go back. He had been living with his girlfriend for the last 5 months though. Thanks for reading and i hope someone out there can help!
It’s beyond me why on earth the parents of a 16-year-old would allow something like this to begin with, but I don’t know the details of the situation and more importantly, it’s not my child…
A 16-year-old is a minor and unless he’s been emancipated his parents have the authority to decide where he’s allowed to live and who he’s allowed to spend time with (and they have the right to change their mind about a decision in that regard), so yes, they certainly can forbid it.
Once the baby is born, Girlfriend can file for child support. I hope he has a job.
