i was wondering if it is alright for a company to give one person a pay increase and not the another person who had the same qualifications.
We have a grade system for pay levels at my old job. I trained for a position about six months ago be told that i was going to get a grade increase however i never received it because they said i did not meet all the qualifications. However about two weeks ago another co-worker received the same grade increase and has the exact same training and qualifications that i have. When i brought the issue up with my manager he said that i will be treated fairly. Then i asked him a couple of days later he said that my paperwork showing my training had been lost and nobody seemed to know where it was and seems how they didnt have it i could not receive the increase.
What should or can I do?
