My husband's former employer is refusing to give my husband his final paycheck. He is withholding because he says my husband has to pay for repairs on the semi he was driving. There was never a signed contract between them, and repairs to semi trucks are on going, thats part of owning them. He is also charging him for a dented fuel tank that my husband did dent while getting the truck loaded. A rock was there and he backed over it without knowing. The employer has insurance for this kind of thing. My husband called him to talk about this but all he did was call my husband names and told him he didn't have to pay him. I can't find any laws about this specificaly. I called the DOL and they said to contact a lawyer, I called about 8 lawyers and they said they didn't this kind of thing..
MY husband quit and was due his final paycheck on the next scheduled payday which was 6 days ago. Any help or comments are appriciated. BTW almost forgot, this is in Utah.
