My company requiers a doctor's note any time one calls out of work for illness no matter how many days they miss. Last year I was out over 2 weeks and put on disability. When I returend I was threatened by HR that if I was to call out 2 more times I wold be fired. Now I am out again due to illness. My doctor has told me not to work and I have a note. I have over 40 hours of PLDs yet I am afraid to miss work even thou I am still very ill. Can my company fire me for being ill? This is a large company of aprox 200 employees. Is it ok they threatend me?

Unless your illness qualifies under FMLA or PFL, the employer does not need to hold your job and therefore, can discharge you if you exceed the company policy for absences. A doctor's note has no force in law and does not require the company to circumvent its stated policies in this situation.
