I work at a school and live in an on campus apartment. My first year I lived free, my second year they required I work a student life position, this year they added a "reduced rent" next year they say they are raising my rent.

I think they are screwing me for several reasons:

1) When they decided on the rent they had someone come and appraise the apartment but they didn't come into my apartment they went to supposedly similair one and apraised that. I know the person whose apartment they went to and it is in much nicer condition then mine.

2) Earlyer this year someone else who lived on campus called the health department and the school was fined. I have a feeling if I called the health department about my apartment the school would again be fined.

Is there anything I can do about what I feel are completly unfair rent and rent raises.

Move. So what if you think they are playing with you. They own the place and they may need to change things because of increased utility costs- in case you have not noticed, electric and gas prices have been going up a lot. So it may not be all about you in this case, so you should decide if to stay and abide by their rules or go get your own place.
