Can a mortgage broker/lender in Michigan advertise that they will pay peoples credit cards off or up to date; or even pay their back taxes prior to closing a loan for them with the express purpose of refinancing their home to get paid back on the loan.
The money would be accounted for by a personal note from the borrower.
It would be a standardized program so as to steer clear of any potential predatory issues. Please advise.

Thank you

I think that you might be on shaky ground, not to mention- I doubt you can afford all the folks who will take advantage of you. You need to talk this over with the state body that oversees mortgage brokers because I think this is not a good idea. It sounds like you are pushing more of a debt consolidation product and maybe you should approach it that way, but the way you are expressing it sounds like possibly deceptive advertising.
