Man, I'm going to get into so much trouble for being on this late...
... Hi. I need some serious help over here. I'm turning 16 on the 17th of April, and I need to get out of my house. How do I do it? And please, no suggestions for group homes. Emancipation would be lovely, but, I don't know the process. If the law's been changed, please tell me when, and a link to prove it so I know for sure. Thanks.
Here's how bad my situation is, for those who are curious:
1) No mom (dead due to cancer, died in 1997)
2) Real father probably isn't my father, visits on weekend, no child support
3) Live with Step-father (52)
a) Verbally Abusive (calls me fat, lazy, stupid, a b*tch, a wh*re, and a host of other names)
b) Physically Abusive (he's thrown things at me before, such as flashlights, has hit me, and constantly threatens to hit me)
c) Hates me for my religion (I'm Pagan, he's Catholic)
d) Blames me for my mom dying
4) Live with sister (20)
a) Does drugs
b) Is a prostitute
c) Threatens me
d) Steals money I earn from doing chores
e) Is never home
f) Has no job
g) Doesn't bathe
h) Doesn't watch her kids
i) Randomly yells at people
j) Is bi-polar
k) Is violent (hits her kids, me, her husband, our step-father)
5) Live with Brother-in-Law (20)
a) Pothead
b) Doesn't watch his kids
c) Doesn't bathe
d) Cooks poorly (everyone in the house gets sick)
e) Doesn't bathe his kids
f) Doesn't leave the house
g) Only recently got a job
6) Niece (3) and Nephew (almost 2)
a) Can't talk full sentences
b) Have hearing problems
c) Nephew doesn't respond when his name is called
d) Both are violent and throw things, along with attack other people (hit, punch, kick, bite, rip, whatever works for them)
7) I feel like Cinderella! (the following applies for the whole house)
a) I watch the kids
b) I usually change their diapers
c) I throw out the garbage
d) I wash the toilet
e) I do the laundry
f) I clean the rooms
g) I sweep
h) I vaccuum
8) I'm dying
a) I haven't slept well in years from all this
b) I've been forced to grow up waaay too fast
c) I'm constantly stressed
d) I don't have time to do homework
e) I don't have time to have friends
f) I barely have any time for my boyfriend (19), who is understanding and caring and cheers me on to keep doing my best in everything
g) I barely have time to eat, nonetheless have the will to
Do I qualify for emancipation, if there even IS any anymore?
