Preadoption evaluations available online to help prospective parents
11/26/03
To ease the stress and strain of domestic and international adoption,
e-Cleveland Clinic, an online second-opinion service is launching a
comprehensive preadoption evaluation service to assist prospective parents.
A board-certified pediatrician specializing in adoption services conducts all
evaluations. E-Cleveland Clinic evaluations feature reviews and analyses of
medical information, including medical history, laboratory, radiology, video
information, birth history, delivery, hospitalization, growth parameters,
developmental milestones, illnesses and treatments, immunization history, and
other available pertinent details.
Between 1991 and 2001, adoptions by American parents of children born overseas
more than doubled. Today, it is estimated that more than 19,000 such adoptions
occur each year. Ninety percent of internationally adopted children are younger
than 5 and nearly half are infants.
Using the Internet as a tool, e-Cleveland Clinic provides patients with online
second opinions, health news and health information regardless of their
location, eliminating the time and expense of travel

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail . . . but, a true friend will
be sitting next to you saying, "Damn . . . that was fun!"
