Does anybody know how much notice I need to give in Connecticut to end a month to month lease, my law book says no statute, I would like to end my lease with my tenant with a 15 day notice, is this possible and do I have to include a reason? Thanks

Is this a private home of your's that you leased out month to month with the tenant?

When you leased it out to tenant did you and tenant discuss what type of notice would be needed if the tenant wanted to vacate the premisses or if you wanted them to leave? (from your post it seems like this wasn't discussed)

Did you make out a written lease on the month to month tenant or was it a verbal lease?

love it hate it

you have to give thirty days notice and the reason should say 30 day notice to vacate termination of lease or 30 day notice to vacate non renewal of lease

Usually, the lease will say how much notice is required to terminate the lease, so you should review the lease. For a month to month, usually one month's notice is required and in some cases 60 days. But your lease should address the notice to quit that is required to terminate the lease.
