Good Afternoon,

I live in MA but going to work in Rhode Island. I know MA does not have a pre-existing insurance policy for pregnancy.

I am 3 months pregnant and trying to find out if Rhode Island Insurance Companies EX: BCBS of RI has a pre-existing policy for pregnancy?

- Thanks Daniella

Federal law states that if you are moving from one employer sponsored group policy to another employer sponsored group policy, pregnancy may not be considered a pre-existing condition.

No Matter the state?

That's what federal law means. It means that every state must minimally comply with the law. States may legislate laws that give extra protection or advantage to the employee, but such laws cannot take away such protection or advantage that federal law grants.
