My boyfriend is 17 and lives in north carolina, his parents told him to find a place to live, because they wanted him to leave, but they claim they called the police. I mean, if the police do find him, what will happen? I know for a fact that they probably did tell him to leave, but if they called the police they probably told them that he ran away. Im worried about him and i dont want him to get in any trouble.

If his parents kicked him out, he needs to call CPS and/or the sherriff's department. Parents cannot kick a child under the age of 18 out of the house.

i understand where you are coming from my mom did the same to my brother and called him in as a run away just to lock him up parents can be a royal pain in the a** sometimes. My cousin was also kicked out at the age of 16 and was in a car accident and killed and my uncle denys kicking him out some parents are screwed up in the head and i am sorry to hear about that!

:) Hey I am 17 and in North Carolina as well. I am trying to move out I have been kicked out at 15 and 16 but my grandmother who is my guardian always called me back home. At 17 legally the cops cant do anything because my step brother just up and left the cops were called and they said they couldnt do anything. I dont know if it is just Jacksonville cops or all of North Carolina cops. I am tring to move to Tennessee to live with my mom and the father of my baby. Which isn't born yet. I figured at 17 and a mom you should be allowed to leave but it dont so if you have any idea's I am open to hear it lol :) well hun I hope everything works out for you and him. I can only let you in on what I know and hope that it all works out.
Legally the cops can do something about it. Rather they will get involved voluntarily depends on your local police department. Some will, some won’t. If the police department refuses to do their job, it’s a simple matter for your parents/guardian to obtain a court order requiring them to do it.
